Michael began in health insurance in a formalized training program with the old US Healthcare in Blue Bell, PA, in the the early 1990's and served them as a large group representative in Bergen County, NJ. He went on to become an Independent Health Insurance Broker, with individuals and small, medium and large companies in designing their employee benefits plans.
Michael Pierce worked his way through college, earning his MBA in Professional Accounting from Rutgers University and His BA in Psychology from Montclair State University. Michael's participation as an Independent Health Insurance Broker expanded to include retirement planning.
In 2012 Michael Pierce was nominated to serve as a Hunterdon County NJ Tax Commissioner. His nomination was thoroughly vetted by the NJ Senate Judiciary Committee and his successful appointment signed by the Governor. He has served this part-time position ever since.
Michael is a lifelong avid reader, and keeps abreast of the multitude of factors that impact health insurance for retirees. He also has extensive experience working with federal employees with their retirement plans.
